Note: Compared to shu gu jiang huang (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) this herb contains the ingredient of bisdesmethoxycurcumin and shu gu jiang huang does not contain any. It is the bisdesmethoxycurcumin that can decrease bile flow. Shu gu jiang huang (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) is a better choice of herb for promoting bile secretion.
