Tyrosine  C9H11NO3

One of the twenty amino acids directly coded in proteins. It is abundant in cheese.

It exists in many types of protein. It is a precursor of epinephrine, norepinephrine, thyroxine, triiodothyronine and melatonin. 

 Nonessential in humans since it can be synthesised from phenylalanine.
