歸肺、胃經。

Seed disperses wind-heat and sooths the throat, rids of toxins and swellings. Use in wind-heat cold and flu, early stages of measles, wind-heat constipation, breast tumor of liver stagnation and stomach heat.　

Root disperses wind-heat and rids of swellings.

牛蒡子疏解風熱，透疹利咽，解毒散腫。 用於風熱感冒，咽喉腫痛。

牛蒡根具有祛風熱、消腫毒的功效。  

 

藥 理 ：

Medical Function:

3. antipyretic

4. anti tumor

5. toxicity: it can cause frogs, rabbits, and mice into muscle spasm, breathing slowing down, and finally into paralysis.

1. 抗 菌 作 用: 牛蒡子煎劑對肺炎雙球菌有顯著抗菌作用；

水浸劑對多種致病性皮膚真菌有不同程度的抑制作用；

2.  降 低 血 糖 作 用: 牛蒡子 提 取 物 能 降 低 大 白 鼠 血 糖 ，

 對 碳 水 化 合 物 耐 量 高 ， 毒 性 小 。

5. 抗腫瘤作用: 其粗提取物呈選擇毒性，較低量就可以抑制癌細

胞增殖，使腫瘤細胞向正常細胞接近，可能成為強有力的抗癌生藥。

6. 其 他 作 用 : 牛 蒡 子 能 引 起 蛙 、 小 白 鼠 、 兔 之 強 直 性 驚 厥 、 呼 吸 細 弱 、

隨 意 運 動 消 失 ， 最 後 轉 入 麻 痺 狀 態 。

For wind-heat influenza with swollen and painful throat:

Name of Formula: yin qiao san

Composition: niu bang zi, lian qiao, jin yin hua, jing jie, jie geng etc.

治風熱感冒，咽喉腫痛:銀翹散；牛蒡子、連翹、銀花、荊芥、桔梗等

風熱壅盛，咽喉腫痛，熱毒較甚者: 牛蒡湯；牛蒡子、大黃、薄荷、防風等

風熱咳嗽，痰多不暢: 牛蒡子、荊芥、桔梗、前胡、甘草。

麻疹不透。 麻疹不透或透而復隱: 透疹湯: 牛蒡子、薄荷、荊芥、蟬蛻、紫草等。
 

癰腫瘡毒，腮腺炎 (痄腮) 喉痺，兼有便秘者: 牛蒡子、大黃、芒硝、枝子、連翹、薄荷等。

肝郁化火，胃熱壅絡之乳癰症: 瓜萎牛蒡湯；牛蒡子、瓜萎、連翹、天花粉、青皮.

瘟毒發頤、痄腮喉痺等熱毒: 普濟消毒飲:李東垣《醫方集解》，黃芩、黃蓮各15克， 牛蒡子、連翹、薄荷、白殭蠶、玄參、板藍根、桔梗各10克，陳皮、馬勃、升麻、柴胡、甘草各6克。水煎服。

性冷而滑利，痘症、虛寒、氣虛便溏者忌服。
