In decoction:

for :

strokes, nausea, vomiting, sudden cough, vomiting blood, excessive vaginal bleeding not during menses, vaginal yeast or bacterial infection, postpartum blood clot, dead fetus, difficulty in giving birth, retention of placenta, food poisoning, cold and pain in abdomen, swollen and painful groin (males).

External uses:

pus in the ears, boils in navels in children, erysipelas (St. Anthony's), furuncle in children, chronic boils, all kinds of carbuncles.

Other uses: for those who are prone to vomiting after taking herb, try to make decoction from fu long gan and use the decoction as water to boil the herb formulae. It may prevent vomiting from taking herb decoction.

內服﹕

2. 冷熱心痛

5. 吐血血，心腹疼痛﹐　　
6. 婦女血漏，淋漓不止﹐　　
7. 婦女赤白帶﹐　　
8. 產後血氣攻心，惡物不下﹐
9. 子死腹中，母氣欲絕﹐　　
10. 橫生逆產﹐　　
11. 胞衣不下﹐　　
12. 食物中毒﹐　　
13. 冷氣入腹，腫滿難當，
14. 男子陰部突然腫痛等

1. 外用﹕
   耳內流膿。用棉花裹伏龍肝末塞耳內，一天換三次。
2. 小兒臍瘡。用伏龍肝末敷上。
3. 小兒丹毒。用陳年伏龍肝末和屋漏水(亦可用新汲水、雞蛋白或油)調敷。藥幹即換。
4. 小兒熱癤。用伏龍肝末、生椒末等分，和醋調敷。
5. 臁瘡久爛。用陳年伏龍肝末、黃、黃丹、赤石脂、輕粉等分，調清油，敷布上，貼患處。如發癢，須忍住，數日可愈。
6. 一切癰腫。用伏龍肝加蒜搗粒成泥(加雞蛋黃亦可)貼患處。幹了就換。
