Most of the herb sold in herb stores look like this. It seems that the herb in the picture look closer to the stems of the plants than the roots which are the portions of the plants called "ban lan gen" meaning the roots of ban lan. The roots are thin and light in color while the stems look brown and thick. (See pictures at the bottom of page.) |
