Medical functions: 藥理﹕	phlegm expectorant antibiotic effect: inhibits TB bacteria in vitro infusion into the stomach of mice with the decoction of a wei, bin nang, and rou gui can lessen, in mice, the percentage of development of the lavae of schistosomes to become mature worms. heparin effect anti epilepsy effect using decoction of this herb or water and alcohol extract of this herb for acute intravenous injection to dogs can increase prothrombin time and can lower the heparin tolerance of serum.     其揮發油自肺排出，故在支氣管炎、百日咳或哮喘患者，可用作刺激性祛痰劑。 阿魏煎劑在體外對人型結核桿菌有抑制作用， 與硫黃、檳榔及肉 桂合用，作成煎劑預先給小鼠灌胃，可減少小鼠感染血吸虫尾蚴後之成虫發育率。 水浸劑在急性試驗(犬靜脈注射)及慢性試驗(大鼠)中，能延長血凝時間，並能顯著降低血漿對肝素的耐受力，其抗凝作用可能與血中肝素或肝素樣物質的增加有關。 水煎劑或水-醇提取液，對離體蛙心能降低其心跳振幅，增加心率；靜脈注射於犬，可使血壓有短暫的降低。對動物的毒性不大。 1：1000煎劑能引起離體豚鼠子宮的強烈收縮；而水-醇提取物則無效。對動物的毒性不大。
