For
clearing wind heat and liver fire
Qing xiang zi or flower decoction: can be
used as drops to stop nose bleeding;
Taking orally as decoction: is being used
in heat, painful, swollen eyes, superficial visual
obstruction and cataracts caused by wind-heat
or liver fire.
Ji quan hua (flower) and jiquan hua zi (seeds): being used in bleeding in hemorrhoids, diarrhea with red and
white muccus, bleeding in menopause, vaginal infections with red
or white discharge and various types of bleeding.
Seeds (zi) and flowers have the same medicinal effects.
青葙子煎劑點鼻止鼻血. 內服用于
熱性眼腫痛﹐風熱肝火盛的
白內障。
雞冠花﹕用于痣瘡出血﹐紅白痢﹐紅白帶﹐各種
出血。
青葙子與雞
冠花可通用。子與花可通用。皆用于﹕急 性 結 膜 炎 ， 虹 膜 炎 ， 葡 萄 膜 炎 ，高
血 壓 ，

ji guan hua (celosiea critata L. ) and qing xiang (Celosia argentea L.) are of the same
family but of different species. The flowers with the shape of the comb of male chicken are called ji guan hua, literally means chicken comb
flower. The flowers with the shape of wheat sprays are called qing xiang. (zi means seed).
They can be used interchangeably.
